FRCEM OSCE preparation in Manchester, taught at consultant level
Passing the FRCEM OSCE takes more than knowing Emergency Medicine well. Examiners want to see how you think, prioritise and lead when a station is complex, uncertain or emotionally charged. Our FRCEM OSCE course in Manchester gives you two focused days to rehearse exactly that, with senior Emergency Medicine consultants watching your performance and telling you what they see.
You will work through demanding exam-style stations, from difficult conversations and safeguarding to major trauma and departmental pressures, then unpick each one with faculty who know what consultant-level performance looks like. Each date has a fixed number of places, so check the upcoming dates below and reserve yours early.
Why prepare for the FRCEM OSCE with Kung Medics
Many strong candidates fall short not because of gaps in knowledge, but because they overcomplicate a station, bury the priorities in a long answer, or speak like a registrar rather than a consultant. Our faculty are senior Emergency Medicine consultants, and their feedback is designed to catch those subtle habits before the examiners do.
We teach four simple principles: understand the station, prioritise the problem, communicate like a senior clinician and demonstrate safe clinical judgement. Instead of scripts to memorise, you build adaptable frameworks that still hold up when the exam throws you something unfamiliar.
This is an independent course. It is not produced by, endorsed by or affiliated with the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, and our stations are written for teaching, not recalled from the exam.

Course overview
The course runs over two consecutive days at our teaching venue on Moseley Road in South Manchester, from 9am to 5pm each day. It is built around exam-style OSCE stations that reflect the breadth of the FRCEM OSCE: complex communication, clinical reasoning, senior decision-making, resuscitation, major trauma, paediatric emergencies, mental health, safeguarding, capacity and consent, ethical dilemmas, complaints, handover and escalation, risk and patient safety, and operational scenarios in a busy department.
Each station is followed by discussion and targeted feedback. Faculty look at how you structure the encounter, whether you speak your reasoning aloud, how you address risk, how you use your time and how you close. They also point out the marks you missed and explain why a stronger approach works, so you understand the principle rather than copying an answer.
Throughout both days the emphasis is on the maturity expected of a senior clinician: rapid assessment, clear priorities, proportionate decisions, appropriate escalation, support for junior colleagues, and balancing the needs of patients, staff and the department.
Who this course is for
This course is for doctors who are close to the FRCEM OSCE and want an honest, senior view of how they perform. You may already have strong clinical knowledge but feel unsure how to show consultant-level judgement in a timed station. Or you may have sat the exam before and want to understand what held you back. Two days of realistic practice and consultant feedback help you replace long, unfocused answers with clear, prioritised and safe performance, so you walk into the exam ready for stations that have no single perfect answer.
